ERUP "CLICKS HIS FINGER" AND ENTERS BILLBOARD CHART
TruckBack Records is proud to announce yet another major milestone for the groundbreaking single, “Click My Finger”, by Jamaican dancehall reggae artist, Erup. On November 8, 2008, Erup added the prestigious Billboard Hot 100 R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart to an already impressive collection of noteworthy chart positions. His Billboard debut at #94 follows a series of #1’s on reggae charts worldwide, including the BBC 1Xtra Dancehall chart (United Kingdom), the New York and South Florida Reggae charts (USA) as well as the Jamaican Music Countdown (Jamaica). Set against TruckBack’s Gearbox riddim, Erup’s captivating Jamaican style of storytelling creates a persuasive party groove in any language. The combination pushed the song into the top ten among overall spins at New York City’s influential Rhythmic radio station, HOT 97. And underlining its increasing popular appeal, “Click My Finger” was also recently selected for a feature in the October 15th episode of “So You Think You Can Dance Canada”, Canada’s #1 new Fall television show watched by an average of 1.36 Million viewers on CTV, Canada’s largest private television broadcaster.
“Click My Finger” is the lead single on TruckBack Records’ breakthrough Gearbox Riddim, whose seductive dancehall vibe established a new trend in Jamaican music. Nominated for 2007’s Riddim of the Year, the Gearbox reached #1 on the reggae charts for a second time with Harry Toddler’s “Don’t Run In” and included standout tracks from Beenie Man, Elephant Man and Vybz Kartel. Despite its success, TruckBack still runs on the grassroots, creative energies of brothers Steve and Adrian Locke, proof of which is evident in new projects the Ole Axle (2008), Clutch (2008), Springblade (late 2008) and Dash Board (2009) riddims. In the meantime, TruckBack will be driving Erup’s career to new levels, including a blazing new single, “Mek Noise”, on the way (check Myspace soon!).
